I went to see Sweeney Todd yesterday. It was absolutely gruesome and I loved it. That night it was hard to get the film out of my mind; not really because of the graphic violence, but because it's so tragic. It shows so many of the shadows of human nature.

Okay, so I have a job now, and I'm not sure if I can handle it. I'm a babysitter for Alzheimer patients. Work starts on Tuesday, and I'll be working all summer (which is something I've never done before).

There was a German couple at church today, and consequently I was addressed as "Sie" (instead of the less formal "du") for the first time in my life. Slightly scary experience. Reminded me of just how old I am. I've been referred to as "this lady", "woman" and *shudders* "Ma'am", so I should have been prepared for this ( Read more... )

Yep, I'm awake at 8am on a Saturday morning. Why? Not sure. I was pulled out of a slightly disturbing dream by sudden stomach cramps that disappeared as quickly as they appeared. Went to see "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" with a bunch of friends on Saturday. I loved it even though it wasn't exactly like the book. Marvin was awesome, Arthur was awesome, Zaphod was more than awesome, the song was awesome.
